Understand a HIFU machine before you pay for one
Most HIFU buying mistakes in India are not clinical mistakes. They are commercial ones — a cartridge running cost nobody mentioned, a "7D" label that meant nothing, a warranty that excluded the one part that fails. This library covers the commercial side, in language a clinic owner can act on.
The four questions that decide the deal
- How many depth cartridges does it actually ship with, and what do they cost to replace? Count them — the number on the box is often larger than the machine.
- What exactly does the written warranty cover — and exclude? Handpieces and cartridges are the common exclusions.
- Who is accountable if it stops working in month seven? The invoicing entity, not the salesperson.
- What is the total cost over three years, not the number on the quotation?

In the order that protects you. Most buyers do step three first, which is how the expensive surprises happen.
- Understand what you are buyingLearn what the specification words mean and which of them are marketing rather than measurement. Start with what HIFU is and what the D number really counts — a “22D” machine can ship only five depth cartridges.
- Work out the running cost, not the priceA HIFU machine's real cost is the machine plus years of cartridges. Build the three-year number before you compare quotations.
- Verify the supplier and get the terms in writingUse the supplier checks and the warranty questions. A verbal assurance is not a warranty.
- Then compare machines and negotiateWith the first three done, a quotation is finally comparable. Our one-page checklist is what to take into that conversation.
